In collaboration with the Southern and South Taranaki Community Panels, New Zealand Oil & Gas is helping provide home insulation to those who need it most, particularly households with respiratory illnesses such as asthma.
By supporting the community trusts delivering the EECA Warm Homes programme in Otago , Southland and South Taranaki we are making a strong contribution to these local communities.
New Zealand Oil & Gas has enjoyed a four year partnership with the Cosy Homes Otago Trust, helping the Trust improve the living conditions of Otago households with high health needs. Whilst this partnership came to an end in 2019 we are pleased to take up the Trust’s recommendation that we work with the Dunedin Curtain Bank to deliver similar service to the people of Dunedin. In working with the Curtain Bank more families in Dunedin are getting lined curtains for their homes, helping provide warm living conditions and improve health and wellbeing outcomes.

We’re pleased to be working with Trees That Count to help New Zealanders around the country with their community tree planting projects. To date we have funded planting by the West Coast’s Paparoa Wildlife Trust, Aotea Conservation Volunteers (Wellington) and Tomahawk/Smaills Beachcare Trust (Dunedin). This contribution has been endorsed by our Southern Community Panel.
Trees That Count estimate that trees planted through our funding contribution will help to remove about 194 tonnes of carbon. This has earned us the Trees That Count Kahurangi Committed to Climate award.
These are some of the questions on the minds of young students from across Otago and Southland.
We are proud supporters of the Otago and Southland Science Fairs, since 2016. Our involvement has helped local students delve in to Earth Science, Energy Efficiency, Mātauranga Māori, Marine Science, Science Innovation, Science Communication and Science Education.
We also support our partners the Otago Cosy Homes Trust, and the Southland Warm Homes Trust, to sponsor a prize that raises awareness of the importance of Warm and Efficient Homes. We congratulate all students participating in the Fairs, and the teachers, and whanau who support them.
Indonesia presents an exciting opportunity for New Zealand Oil & Gas . It has the world’s fourth largest population, an increasing middle class, a growing energy demand and prolific gas and oil domestic fields, both conventional and unconventional. We work hard to ensure our values are reflected in the way we operate in our offshore activities.
