Matuku-1 News Release 20 Jan 14

In PEP 51906, Matuku reaches total depth and new seismic completed. Total depth of 4846 metres was reached on Saturday, 18 January in the Matuku well in PEP 51906 offshore Taranaki. The next operation is pulling out of the hole prior to running wireline logs. The Kan Tan IV began drilling operations on Saturday, 30 November. Matuku-1 is in 130 meters of water.

Matuku-1 progress report 14 Jan 2014

Since the weekly progress report was issued yesterday, the Matuku-1 well in PEP 51906 offshore Taranaki has drilled into the Kapuni Group Farewell F Sands at 3935 metres. The F sands were found to be porous, but there were no significant gas or oil shows.

Matuku-1 update 16 Jan 14

New Zealand Oil & Gas believes its share price has been affected by the previously released news that the primary target zone in the Matuku well in PEP 51906 offshore Taranaki has not encountered significant oil or gas shows. The well is currently at a depth of 4307 metres and drilling ahead to a total depth of 4750 metres.

The Matuku-1 well in PEP 51906 offshore Taranaki has been drilled to 3913 meters as of 6.00AM Sunday, 12 January 2014. A 9 5/8 inch casing string has been set to 3409 meters.

Matuku-1 weekly progress report January 7

As at 6:00AM Monday, 6 January, the Matuku-1 well in PEP 51906 offshore Taranaki had been drilled to 3417 metres. 9 5/8” casing has been run to 3409 metres and cemented. The current operation is running in 8 ½” drilling assembly to commence drilling the next section to a planned total depth of 4754m.
